FAL 2016 Q3

Wild Goose Chase

Done! Just a little quilt (36.5" square) but finally finished!

All Kaffe Fassett shot cottons, happy colours, a little bit autumnal maybe?

"Hey! what took you sooo long?!!"  Hmm... probably those 90 flying geese units!

I have huge admiration for Anita and anyone else who has the stamina to go bed sized with this one. I followed this great tutorial for the blocks.

The start of this quilt was inspired by these lovely little Brent geese who overwinter here:

I don't suppose it will be long now until they are back.

Anyway, there you have it, my second finish along finish this quarter (my proposed list of finishes can be found here).

Stitchy pies

Cute needle cases made using Lucy's stitchy pie pattern.

Two for me (one for machine needles and one for hand sewing needles) and two for birthday's later in the year. I used a 22.5 degree wedge ruler to cut the pieces and a 3 inch (finished size) circle for the centre.

It feels so nice to have all my needles organized! In the process of filling my new needle books I have discovered why I couldn't find a new 80/12 machine needle for this project, I have NONE! Having everything in one place will make things a lot easier!

My first finish from quarter 3's finish along list (hurrah!).

Q3 FAL 2016 - getting a bit bored by some of these projects now!

FAL 2016
So three finishes and three roll overs this time, 50% seems like a reasonable result to me! So onto the list for quarter 3...
  1. Giant dahlia quilt (or maybe wall hanging?) in shot cottons (from this free tutorial). DSCN0645
  2. Wild goose chase quilt (still only 2 blocks done!). DSCN0646
  3. Adam and Eve sampler. I have had pattern and supplies for this since 2008 and have declared my intention to get it done already before. I did not touch this once during quarter 2 - oops!DSC_0004
  4. Sewing box refurb. I have dismantled and started sanding so far... 20160623_070516

  5. Silver grey jumper. I have been making steady progress on this, so fingers crossed for a finish :) (my knitting bag made for a more colourful picture!)20160716_074747
  6. Stitchy-pie needle cases. I have bought felt and traced my patterns onto card, I am just struggling to decide which fabrics to use. 20160716_075146
  7. Stripey quilt from old Quiltmania magazine. I REALLY wanted to make this 4 years ago when I bought the magazine, somehow it got completely forgotten about until a few weeks ago when I found mag, fabrics and templates that I had made-  almost like a kit ready to go! 20160716_074926

Really hoping to get those first two done this quarter! Linking up with the finish-along here.
