The Year in Books

The two books of the year for me were the novel How to Be Both by Ali Smith and Kate Tempests' recent collection of poems Hold Your Own. Both are truely inspiring and original writers and these books in particular really resonated with me and will stay with me for some time to come.

I read quite a few books this year, exceeding my goal.

Other highlights included the Wool trilogy by Hugh Howie, The Illierate Who Could Count by Jonas Jonasson, Brand New Ancients by Kate Tempest, The Wake by Paul Kingsnorth, We Are All Completely Beside Ourselves by Karen Joy Fowler, and two "young adult" offerings We Were Liars by E. Lockhart and The Fault in Our Stars by John Green.

Read on, I certainly intend to!
