Blogger's Quilt Festival - Amish with a twist II

Hello there, welcome!

This is my first time linking up to Amy's marvelous Blogger's Quilt Festival, I have always enjoyed browsing through the wonderful entries but never quite got round to entering a quilt myself - until now!

This is my entry to the large quilt category:

Amish with a twist II

Please excuse the various bike parts and extension cables that made it into shot, it was hard to find enough space to take a shot of the whole thing!

This quilt was made as a block of the month which I started in April 2013, the pattern is by Nancy Rink. My version finished up at 2.5m square (100").

You can see other posts relating to this quilt here, including the inevitable moment when my enthusiasm left me in the face of all those log cabin blocks.

I am really pleased with this quilt, I like fact that it is a sampler quilt, but that it also has a cohesive design. It makes me smile when I make the bed each morning, which is no bad thing!

Size: 100" x 100"

Fabrics: Marcus Brothers Centennial Solids, backed with Moda Bella extra-wide in red

Wadding: Hobbs Heirloom 80/20

Quilting: By Janette of J-Quilts. The design is "paisley playtime" and the thread colour is "slate" a slightly purplish grey.

Thanks for visiting, I'm off to see the rest of the festival... bye for now!
